Nulli Secundus Profile
Nulli Secundus is a vibrant youth group of First Assembly of God Wortmanville church, designed to harness the giftings and spiritual well-being of youth transitioning from Royal Rangers and Girls’ Ministry into a more explorative aspect of their Christian walk. Nulli Secundus is Latin meaning ‘second to none’ and is the brainchild of Dr. Wilbert Lee who serves as a mentor.
The group was rebranded in 2008, with a strong emphasis on mentoring and developing youth in the fellowship and community The group comprises young people focused on developing other youths spiritually, physically, economically and socially as they prepare to navigate and step out into adult life, along with their mentors
Our Emblem
The two most outstanding elements of the group logo are the eagle and a globe.
The eagle is synonymous with flying high and dominance in the animal kingdom. These leadership qualities testify to the resilience and ability of Nulli Secundus to transform obstacles into opportunities for development and empowerment.
The globe represents the world we live in and the intent of our youth to make an impact as change agents in the Kingdom, beginning with our homeland, Guyana.

Virtual Youth Talent Extravaganza Stimulates Hope
Commensurate with the meaning of their name, ‘Second to None,’ the Nulli Secundus youth group continues to be synonymous with excellence. With activities that are usually planned, coordinated and executed by young people, the group on 14 November 2021, successfully hosted their second virtual talent extravaganza under the theme “Dum spiro, spero” which means ‘while I breathe, I hope.’ The talent extravaganza is an annual feature of the Nulli Secundus calendar, aimed at giving back to the group’s support network. The 2021 event involved vibrant young men and women displaying a medley of talent in areas such as singing, painting, dancing, and drama through a virtual platform to members and friends locally and overseas.
Nulli Secundus’ 2021 virtual talent extravaganza got off to an invigorating start with opening remarks from host Lemar Williams, who quoted Elie Wiesel’s “the opposite of life is not death but indifference,” and an opening prayer by Assistant Pastor Joshua Griffith. Yohance Austin and Shemar Marshall then combined talents in an exceptional beatbox and rap piece titled “I breathe, I hope, I fight, I dream.” Jael Richardson’s piano instrumental ‘Amazing Grace’ encouraged the audience to depend on God, even in the darkest of times.
A major highlight of the event was a stimulating, topical and well-executed skit surrounding mental health issues. This was written and directed by Imani McKenzie, and performed by Jadimond Johnson, Keri Duncan, Daniel Cameron, Martin Watson, Tabitha Roberts and Latevia Williams. The skit depicted a young woman, who after losing her Mom was struggling with depression. She received zero support from her husband and close friend, resulting in attempted suicide. The young woman’s hope was restored by establishing a relationship with God, guidance from a psychologist and supportive family and friends.
The Nulli Secundus Choir lustily sang a group song titled “Awesome God – God only knows,” which directed the attention of the audience to God as the only source of all hope. Lemar Williams, Addel Sultan and Jadiamond Johnson then presented an interesting fusion of spoken word and song titled “Dum spiro, spero.” This item challenged youths to seek Jesus Christ, as the hope and salvation for all hopelessness. Other renditions included a steel pan solo by Reon Miller, of Travis Green’s ‘You Made A Way;’ a breathtaking solo by Adielle Rosheuvel, titled “Greater is He;” a brilliantly executed duet dance by Michael Watson and Jadiamond Johnson; and a second instrumental piece by Martin Watson and Rhudayne Liverpool.
It was heartening to benefit from guest performances by Nulli Secundus community partner representatives from Rupertee and Aishalton villages, Region 9; and internationally recognized artists Samuel Medas and Renwick Duesbury.
Demonstrating a true message of hope despite trials and tribulations, the Nulli Secundus youth performed a group dance to the song “Wade in the Water,” which skillfully portrayed the struggle of the Children of Israel being led by Moses from captivity. Then speed painting by the talented Shemar Marshall, was followed by another duet by Jadiamond Johnson and Andrew Duncan encouraging the audience to depend on the grace of God. An inspiring spoken word by Shonetta Tyrell was the penultimate item, and the final performance was a solo dance by Jadiamond Johnson.
Nulli Secundus’ virtual talent extravaganza 2021 ended with closing remarks from organisers Imani McKenzie and Latevia Williams, culminating in an evening of members showcasing their God given gifts and talents in an inspirational, humorous, and passionate manner.
